A long time…

October 9, 2011

Well, it’s been a long time since I have made any posts! I’ve been pretty busy at uni and have not felt inspired at all to write anything. I was writing a lot of poetry before, but recently I have had a few ideas for other commentary I want to add about living in Korea. I might even create a seperate blog to separate the creative from the cultural commentary.

So, most blogs/articles are about the AMAZING things to do in Korea and how it is so culturally rich, and how *yawn* they have palaces with stuff in them and…*zzzzzzz*.

But, we all know in every conversation there is one positive comment beaten down by a bunch of bitchin and whinging…and frankly, I am all for it.

What interests me is offending and annoying people. No one is interested in the most AMAZING samgyeopsal in Seoul. After 8 Hite Ds the most amazing bbq is the one which is right in front of your fat face. What people love to hear is what shit you got into because you did something that annoyed someone and they couldn’t handle it and flipped out.

Which, as everyone knows, is pretty fun and I’d like to compile the best ways to do this. Since I am in Korea and the place is FULL of Koreans (they seem to like this place a LOT) one such idea might be penned as ‘The Best Ways to Irritate and Offend: The Art of Trolling in Korea’.

This would be a scientific investigation and comparison of what offends and irritates, not only Koreans, but any nationality living in Korea. Described in Lonely Planet as ‘Asia’s Wang’, I would like to source evidence right from the base of Korea’s shaft in Seoul to its tip hanging low in Busan. Let me clarify that this is not about picking on Koreans, they’ve had plenty of that over the centuries. This is about trying to irritate and offend any and every nationality liberally and without bias.

It would be great to create a corpus and then a statistical analysis of this noble initiative.

Back to talking about my creative blog, Bloodwords, I also have some poems spinning around, so I’ll put them up sometime.

Peace and regards.

  1. let start with Canadia peoples.. they are stupid and i hates them… and usa peoples are fat, haha. yes…

can we make they all corpus to?

    • Indeed…your thoughts sound quite familiar to me…interesting, Tom, if that is your real name. I love Americans and people from Canadia and they are DEFINITELY top contenders in the corpus.

  2. Chanting, “USA, USA” behind some thick-necked GI Joes at the Coex Mall pisses them right off. BOOM!

    • Or yelling “America! Fuck, Yeah!” From a ski lift and making them fall down…ahhh…memories …
