January 15th Poems and The Zeitgeist Movement

January 14, 2012

Firstly, about the writing. This is not the poem I mentioned in the previous post, you probably figured that out, this is just one I randomly found. I may have written it when I was drunk. Sometimes I wake up, write, and go back to sleep. You just have to write when you can and when it’s in you. Well, I don’t particularly remember when I wrote it, but I gave it a little sanding and polishing, and here it is for you. It definitely has my feeling in it, which, I hope is pretty distinctive and you should be able to notice. Hopefully.

The themes of a lot of my writing cover personal beliefs, and for my closer friends, they might know my opinion about money. When I was younger it was a little immature and naive, over the top enthusiastic to the point of throwing away my wallet. I can laugh at it now, but the idea has always been held in me. Kept as true, but just tucked away without a voice, expressive-less. You grow and learn, ideas settle, mature, and you gain perspective. Growing up I always looked at the world of money we live in and saw something inherently incorrect about it. Where chasing dollars in a job comes before the job itself. Where you could, insanely, give up a fine career/profession/passion for a “promotion” or in other words “a bigger pay check”. Where you could spend your life doing something that has no meaning and helps no one, not even yourself beyond giving you some money to spend. Our passions sidelined as ‘hobbies’.
My ideas have been re-awoken with The Zeitgeist Movement and Peter Joseph. I have remembered what I used to believe in passionately. The ideas have been articulated and given a voice. If anyone reads this I strongly suggest you either download the movies or visit the website or just check out some talks on youtube. I believe the ideas to be true, important to everyone, and even noble that’s why I’m recommending it. Usually I’m pretty sarcastic, but for once I’d like to actually recommend something important. My next post will be normal. I promise.

Hope you all like the writing and check out thezeitgeistmovement.com
