February 9th – 11AM
February 9, 2012So, you may have noticed that it is only 9 hours since my last post. Well, I went to bed working on my other poem and if you read my message I said I was going to get back to “reality”…well, I kinda did in the morning. I started doing some cleaning. What is more ‘real’ than that, hey? And I found so must dust under the table and bed, and hairs, too.
Women are cats. I swear to god I am still finding their hairs a 6 months after we have split and smelling them on my bed sheets (And yes I clean them…occasionaly!). Well…that’s where the idea from the poem came from. It also reminded me of a poem one of my lecturer’s read at university…it was a long time ago, so I forget the poet, but it was moving stuff. A man lost his wife years ago. He is doing some potting, handling the soil beneath the plants, and replacing it, when he pulls out a long dark hair from his wife. Emotional stuff. Well, not with my explanation, but you can probably imagine how a good writer would have constructed that.
So, this is the first draft of this poem. I’ll leave it for a bit, try and get some more ideas, lengthen it, cut it down, and probably have the final posted soon. Or probably just have something else posted.
Cheers.
